Dam and Impoundment Design and Permitting

Dam and impoundment design and permitting is an comprehensive process that includes many aspects of civil engineering.  Wilson Environmental’s civil, geotechnical, and structural engineers are involved in every step of the process.  Our typical services for a dam and impoundment installation include

·         Geotechnical investigation of the subgrade soils,

·         Hydrologic analysis and modeling of the contributing watershed,

·         Hydraulic analysis and modeling,

·         Stability analysis,

·         Development of construction drawings and specifications,

·         Development of an operation and maintenance manual, and

·         Permitting including water rights and dam safety.

Once the dam is permitted, Wilson’s engineers take an active role in overseeing its construction to insure compliance with the drawings and specifications.
